“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston is headed to Broadway, trading in his drug-kingpin pork pie hat for a role as commander-in-chief.
The Emmy Award-winning actor will make his debut on the Great White Way portraying President Lyndon B. Johnson in the play “All the Way.”

“It’s an exciting new American play that deals with LBJ's quest for legitimacy,” the show’s producer Jeffrey Richards said Sunday.
Richards said the play begins with the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy that catapulted Johnson into the Oval Office.

“It deals with a year in American history that was a tumultuous year and an exciting year. The writer has brought it to life vividly,” Richards said.
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Robert Schenkkan, the play wrapped up performances on Saturday at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Mass.
“I think it’s a transformative performance,” Richards said .
Richards said he’s not ready to say when and at which theater the play will open.
