'Extreme Cheapskates' share dental floss, deodorant

Sharing a shower may be a romantic way for a couple to start their day.

But what about using the same dental floss, cotton swabs, razors, toothbrushes and even toilet flushes?

That's what Georgia penny-pinchers Karissa and Rick Parran are doing as they bid to slash their household expenses.

The couple, from Atlanta, will star on season two of TLC's "Extreme Cheapskates," which premieres on Oct. 23.

"We're so cheap that we share our tooth floss," Rick, 33, reveals in a trailer for the show.

"Rick uses the suds from my hair on his hair ... it's like two for one on the shampoo," his 26-year-old wife adds, saying one bottle will last them eight months.

The pair claims to have halved their water and electricity bills since adopting the regime.

Home-sharpened razor blades are first used to remove Karissa's armpit hair before Rick then takes the same blade to shave his face.

Likewise, one of the couple will use one side of a cotton swab before the other has his or her turn.

And they also have no qualms about sharing stick deodorant.

Friends, however, aren't so keen and have admitted they find the idea "gross."
