Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela star in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," directed by Justin Chadwick. In theaters Nov. 29.

Friday is the festival’s traditional quiet day, at least in terms of celebrity appearances and panel discussions. The screening schedule, however, is packed as always. Here are a few highlights:

TIM’S VERMEER, 4 p.m. at UA East Hampton. Teller, of Penn and Teller, directed this documentary about a man who goes to extraordinary to lengths to discover how Vermeer painted his works.

MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM, 4:30 p.m. at Guild Hall. Idris Elba plays the South African revolutionary and President Nelson Mandela.

THE INVISIBLE WOMAN, 8:30 p.m. at Guild Hall. Director Ralph Fiennes is scheduled to host a screening of his film about Charles Dickens’ affair with a younger woman.
