We're slightly obsessed with the ladies of "Orange Is The New Black." The show has incredibly complex female characters, brilliant acting and storylines that never fail to keep us wanting more.
So when we caught up with some of these wildly talented women on the red carpet at an Oct. 2 Paley Festival event, we were interested to hear what advice they'd offer to their younger selves. Here's what four of them had to say:
Jenji Kohan, ("OINTB" creator)
"I was already doing what I'm doing by age 25, but I think I'd say... Have sex with more people. I didn't have enough random, anonymous sex."
Kate Mulgrew, (Red)
"I'd already lived a pretty full life by 25, but I would say to a 25-year-old young woman now... be brave. And strictly when it comes to men, hold yourself back. Women are far too accessible, and never forget that men don't like that. And also remember that passion is the key to all happiness."
Taylor Schilling, (Piper Chapman)
"Be yourself. You're okay. And it really doesn't matter what other people think."
Taryn Manning, (Pennsatucky)
"Save your money. And I would tell myself to continue honing my craft... continue practicing my guitar and my piano and being the best I could be at everything. Because there's always someone a little better, wanting it a little more, and you have to stay on it."
Wise words, ladies. And Jenji -- can we be your best friend?
