Heather Morris, who played cheerleader Brittany Pierce through last season of the Fox musical-comedy series "Glee," has become a mother, Us Weekly reports.

The magazine said the actress gave birth Saturday to a boy, Elijah, with her longtime boyfriend Taylor Hubbell, whom she met in high school.

The low-key couple has been together at red-carpet occasions such as the Los Angeles premiere of "Glee: The 3D Concert" in 2011 and the premiere of Morris' movie "Spring Breakers" in March.

"I want to marry him so bad," Morris, 26, told Fitness magazine in 2011. "That's what I really care about. I want to marry Taylor and have kids with him. I love acting, but if it affects my relationship, then I won't continue doing it."

This is Morris' first child. Us Weekly first reported her pregnancy in April.

In related news, the fifth-season premiere of "Glee" last week offered a reminder of cast member Cory Monteith, who died of substance abuse in July at age 31.

In one scene, his real-life girlfriend, fellow series star Lea Michele, who plays aspiring Broadway singer Rachel Berry, sings The Beatles' classic "Yesterday" as she walks forlornly through Manhattan. As she does, we see a cellphone photo of her former high school's glee club, including Finn Hudson, the character Monteith played.

"Couldn't have picked a more beautiful and perfect song to start the year with," Michele tweeted last month, as production on the new season began.
