We knew something was up with Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding.
The two Brits sent music fans into a tailspin when they were caught holding hands at last month's MTV Video Music Awards.
Although Goulding quashed any dating rumors, the "A Team" singer recently set the record straight in a radio interview.
Sheeran confessed, "Normal people don't hold hands if they're just friends. It was going on. And now it's not."
Bummer.
The stars are no strangers to media speculation on their dating lives. Gossip had swirled around Goulding and One Directioner Niall Horan. Meanwhile, Sheeran was unsurprisingly linked to Taylor Swift as he spent the summer opening her "Red" tour.
Sheeran didn't detail when he and Goulding got together, but we're guessing it was around the time she rocked a special duet with Swift on August 23.
Goulding also tipped us off a month ago when she shared these adorably incriminating photos:
Cuteness aside, there are no hard feelings. Sheeran even complimented his former lady love on air: "She's a really cool girl and she's very talented. She's had a number one single for three weeks in England now. It's all going well."
