Earlier this week Miley Cyrus debuted the music video to her latest single "Wrecking Ball" with a clip that shows the 20-year-old singer fully naked and riding a wrecking ball.

While some reactions to the video have been negative, the ever-controversial Cyrus is standing by her "Wrecking Ball" visuals, telling New York City's Z100 radio station that the clip is so much more than her nudity.

"I think the video is much more, if people get past the point that I'm naked and you actually look at me," Cyrus said in the interview. "You can tell that I actually look more broken than even the song sounds. The song is a pop ballad. It's one of these songs that everyone is gonna to relate to, everyone's felt that feeling at some point."

"If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination a little bit and see kind of what the video really means and the way that it is so vulnerable," Cyrus continued. "If you look in my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record. It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to even record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."

"Wrecking Ball" is the latest single off of Cyrus' fourth studio album, "BANGERZ." The project, which is set to hit stores on Oct. 8, is led by the hit single "We Can't Stop." The album will also feature collaborations with artists including Britney Spears, Big Sean, and French Montana.

Cyrus is hardly the first artist to include nudity in her music videos. Check out NSFW music videos from the likes of Rihanna, Mötley Crüe, Alanis Morissette, and Madonna below.
