What VMA performance?
Now all the attention has instead gone to Miley Cyrus’s newly released “Wrecking Ball” music video in which she’s seen in the buff swinging on none other than a wrecking ball.
Despite the video breaking VEVO records for the most views in 24 hours, the 20-year-old singer is playing coy about wearing, well, nothing.

“I think the video is much more [than that],” she said on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show Wednesday. “If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds.”
More than 19 million viewers watched a heart wrenched Cyrus lay it all out but it was hard not to notice the overtly sexual innuendos interwoven in the video’s scenario.
Still, she insisted it’s about more than crying in her birthday suit.

“The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point,” she added. “If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable.”
But Cyrus leaves nothing to the imagination as she erotically licks a sledgehammer and grinds against the large chain holding the wrecking ball.
“If you look at my eyes, I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record,” she continued. “It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience.”

The “We Can’t Stop” singer has experienced heartbreak first-hand with her on-again-off-again love affair with actor Liam Hemsworth, which seems to be the underlying inspiration for the song and video.
He reportedly was so turned off by her “mortifying” MTV VMAs performance that he called it quits for good.
As everyone is well aware of Cyrus twerked her way into controversy when she backed it up on Robin Thicke and made sexual motions with a large foam finger.

Now, after supposedly being crowned the unofficial queen of twerking, the former Disney star is playing it humble.
“For me, anything I do becomes such a big deal,” she said. “I’m just having fun. Whatever people label it as it doesn’t really matter. I always want to switch it up.”
From booty popping to wrecking ball riding — it’s anyone’s guess what may come next.
Even Cyrus’ father Billy Ray approves of his baby gir’s music video and heartfelt song.
“I’m a song man,” the 52-year-old country crooner told Entertainment Tonight. “A musician singer songwriter who loves all styles of music. It wouldn’t have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt ... a Tux ... or a nun’s habit. The song’s a smash ... and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent.”
