Actors Angelina Jolie, Angela Lansbury and Steve Martin and costume designer Piero Tosi will receive honorary Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday.

On Nov. 16 at the Fifth Annual Governors Awards, Jolie will be presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which is granted "to an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry," said academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs.

Jolie, a supporting actress Oscar winner for "Girl, Interrupted" (1999), is a longtime advocate for humanitarian causes, traveling worldwide on behalf of groups including the Council on Foreign Relations and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), for which she was appointed a special envoy in 2012 after 12 years of service.

Lansbury earned Oscar nominations for her first film "Gaslight" (1944), "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1945) and "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962). Martin has starred in numerous hits including "The Jerk" (1979) and "Father of the Bride" (1991), and written several screenplays.

Tosi, best known for his collaborations with Italian director Luchino Visconti, is a five-time Oscar nominee for costume design.
