Wayans, 30, originally starred in the series' pilot, but was forced to exit the show due to a commitment on ABC's now-defunct "Happy Endings."

The actor, who plays Coach on "New Girl," was slated for a four-show arc, but high ratings helped push forward a deal to stay in his current role for the rest of the third season.
