Audi is no stranger to the world of futuristic science fiction blockbusters, but "Ender's Game" marks a first for the automaker.

In contrast to the Audi e-tron driven by Tony Stark earlier this year in "Iron Man 3" or even the Audi RSQ concept featured in 2004's "I, Robot," the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro that will debut in "Ender's Game" only exists as a digital design.

For the film, actors drove an Audi A7 Sportback that was later replaced by special effects firm Digital Domain. The Fleet Shuttle Quattro serves as the first time Audi's team has designed a solely digital car for a Hollywood production.

“It was a very special moment for me when I finally saw our sci-fi Audi on the silver screen,” Björn Wehrli of the team of designers said in a statement. Designers were inspired by the futuristic world of "Ender's Game" created by director Gavin Hood.

“We have created a car for a world in about 75 years, which integrated itself perfectly into the high-tech atmosphere of the movie.”

A 1:4 scale model of the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro was built for use on the film's red carpet and now has a home at the Audi Design Studio.
