The cover of O's December issue features Oprah in a White by Vera Wang dress, with Jimmy Kimmel appearing as an elf on the gatefold.
"It's va-va and voom," said Gayle King of the dramatic White by Vera Wang confection Oprah wore for the September 5 cover shoot in New York City. Designed by Wang and inspired by the fiery gown she created for Oprah for the 2005 Legends Ball, the organza-and-netting dress was perfect for the "fun, festive fantasy" cover dreamed up by O creative director Adam Glassman. "It's bey-yoo-tiful!" Oprah said before striking a pose to, appropriately enough, Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire."
The Gown, By the Numbers
10: People who worked on the dress, for a total of 100 hours
15: Length of the train, in feet
25: Weight of the dress, in pounds
160: Total yards of fabric used (the length of 1½ football fields!)
165: Rosettes applied to the skirt
