Britney Spears names James Franco as her pick for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ lead

Not a bad idea, Britney.


The "Work B---h" pop princess thinks James Franco would make a great Christian Grey.

During a KIIS-FM interview, Spears, 31 talked fantasy casting the steamy "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation, throwing in her pick to play the lead role amidst a search to replace departed "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam.


"I love James Franco," Spears said, per E! News. "I think he's really cool."

During the "Fifty Shades" discussion the singer also talked about Ryan Gosling, who reportedly turned down the role early on in the casting search.


"I had a dream about him last night," she said, quickly adding that it wasn't a dream akin to the steamy film.

"We were just talking, having a conversation … I wish it was like that!"


The apparent Hollywood-wide search for a new Christian Grey has sparked rumors of filmmakers' interest in actors like "True Blood" hunk Alexander Skarsgard and Irish hottie Jamie Dornan.


The newest name being thrown in the mix is François Arnauld, star of the Showtime period drama "The Borgias."
