Tina Fey, Amy Poehler to host Golden Globes in 2014 and 2015

America’s favorite Golden Girls will be back for two more years.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return to host the 70th and 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards in 2014 and 2015 after their critically lauded stint this past January, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday.

It wasn’t just critics who were enamored by the “Saturday Night Live” veterans’ hosting performance -- this year’s Globes telecast drew 19.7 million viewers, an increase of 17 percent from 2012, according to Nieslen ratings figures.

Fey, 43, and Poehler, 41, had replaced the controversial Ricky Gervais, who had alienated plenty of bold-faced names over his three-year run from 2010 to 2012.

‘We want to assure you that we have no intention of being edgy or offensive tonight,’’ Poehler had deadpanned during the pair’s memorable monologue, ‘‘because, as Ricky learned the hard way, when you run afoul of the Hollywood Foreign Press, they make you host this show two more times.”

“They have always been our first choice as hosts and we’re delighted they are back for the next two years,” Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Theo Kingma said in a statement.
