‘Happy Gilmore’ actor Christopher McDonald charged with DWI

McDonald was reportedly found with a blood-alcohol level of .15, according to local reports.




Actor Christopher McDonald was reportedly arrested for driving while intoxicated early Wednesday morning.


The "Happy Gilmore" actor, 58, was stopped by North Carolina Highway Patrol officers in Wilmington early in the morning, TMZ reported.

McDonald, who also starred in acclaimed drama "Requiem for a Dream," was handcuffed and taken to the New Hanover County jail after being found with a blood-alcohol level of .15, nearly twice the legal limit, the gossip site reported.


He was released on $1,000 bail, according to local reports, released at 7:20am.


The actor, who now faces a Dec. 11 court date, is said to be in North Carolina filming a new movie titled "The Squeeze."
