Tom Hanks’ reputation for being the nicest guy in Hollywood is not an act.
Just how nice a guy the 57-year-old “Captain Phillips” star is was on display in three videos posted in March but gone viral this week.
In the videos, Hanks meets an autistic fan, Sarah Moretti, backstage at his critically lauded Broadway show, “Lucky Guy,” in which the actor played late, great Daily News columnist Mike McAlary.
As Moretti is seen giggling with joy at meeting her idol in the first video, Hanks walks into his dressing room holding a letter she sent him.
“Come here, give me a hug, sweetie,” he says.
Hanks thanked her for coming and took time to leaf through a scrapbook Moretti put together of her favorite actor.
“Sarah this is so great,” he gushed looking over the photos. “My mom doesn’t even have some of these.”
He didn’t even seem fazed when Moretti’s relative could be off camera mentioning that the girl cried when they visited Hanks’ Malibu home and couldn’t make it past the gate to introduce themselves.
“You didn’t miss anything,” said Hanks as he autographed her scrapbook.
Moretti left the actor with a gift of her own - a pen engraved with the inscription, “World’s best Actor, love Sarah.”
“Beyond that, in his kindness he sent Sarah a [thank you] note typed in his vintage Typewriter,” the family member who uploaded the videos posted Friday.
Moretti has some competition for the title of biggest Hanks fan: the two-time Academy Award winner was voted the most likeable man in Hollywood in iHeartRadio’s new survey, besting runner up Will Smith 28.3 percent to 17.2 percent.
